at The meeting place we hold to these foundational beliefs

We believe the bible is the word of God.

The holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. Both the Old and New Testaments, in their original writings, are inspired, infallible, and inerrant. The Bible serves as the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains everything necessary for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).

We believe Jesus is the son of God

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was fully God and fully man. He is the only person to have lived a sinless life. Born of a virgin, he lived without sin, performed miracles, and died on the cross for humanity, atoning for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14; John 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5).

We believe in the Trinity

We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, sharing the same nature, attributes, and perfections. They are all deserving of the same reverence, trust, and obedience. (I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).

We believe in the person, gifts and moves of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament and given to the church in fullness at Pentecost. He empowers the Saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, subsequent to conversion, releases the fullness of the Spirit and is evidenced by the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-16, 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10).

We believe in biblical Marriage

We believe in unconditional love for everyone while remaining unwavering in our loyalty to God‘s Holy Word. We believe that because God, our creator, established marriage as a sacred institution between one man and one woman, the idea that marriage is a covenant only between one man, and one woman has been the traditional definition of marriage for all of human history (“Traditional Definition of Marriage”). Because of the longstanding importance of the traditional definition of marriage to humans and their relationships and communities, and, most importantly, the fact that God has ordained that marriage be between one man and one woman, as clearly conveyed in God‘s inherent Scriptures, including for example in Matthew 19:4-6 where in speaking about marriage Jesus referred to the fact that “He which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” the Church hereby creates this policy, which shall be known as the “Marriage Policy.” (Mark 10:6; Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:33; 1 Corinthians 11:1; Ephesians 5:25; 1 Peter 3:7).
